sustainability@newcastle is managed by the Newcastle Engineering Design Centre
We aim to be the North East regional focus for teaching/training, information, research and consultancy in engineering for a sustainable future.
Research in sustainable engineering & development, sustainability, and environment is carried out in many locations in the University. Those centres focussing specifically on researching these issues include:
- The Engineerng Design Centre, and
- The Institute for Research on Environment & Sustainability
There is a wide variety of both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the University that include elements of Sustainability.

About the Events Diary
The EDC often hosts, arranges or is associated with a wide variety of seminars related to its activities.
These seminars (often in association with an engineering institute) are always open to students and staff at the university and often to the public.
Upcoming events will be listed on this website in the future. Please check back from time to time for updates.
