The Engineering Design Centre

The EDC Sustainability Research Group investigates the impact of sustainability on the design process for complex systems. It focuses on Engineered-to-order products such as offshore oil & gas, nuclear systems, land based chemical and power plant, ships, and military aircraft.

The Institute for Research on Environment & Sustainability

IRES is a multidisciplinary research Institute, recently established to foster and promote the University's internationally recognized expertise in environmental and sustainability research.

The Institute will enable scientists, engineers and social scientists to deliver holistic, cutting edge research on the impact of human habitation of the planet and to provide social and technological solutions for mitigating these impacts.
